Miele fridge freezers Energy classification
Miele fridge freezers are classified on an EU standard
scale of A++ (low) to D (high) according to its energy consumption.
Of the 15 integrated fridges, fridge-freezers and freezers,
4 are A+ rated, 7 are A rated and 4 are B rated.
Reversible doors
Miele fridge freezers leave the factory with the door hinged
on the right or the left, depending on model. This can easily
be changed to the other side if required.
With Dynamic cooling, a fan located in the back wall of the
appliance gently circulates cold air around the appliance.
This constant flow of air enables the temperature inside the
appliance to be maintained at the same level throughout. This
has the benefit of allowing you to choose where to store your
food, instead of being restricted to certain areas for certain
types of food as is the case with static cooling.
Another advantage of Dynamic cooling is that food and drinks
can be chilled much faster. For instance, on a hot summer's
day, it can take up to 50% less time to chill your food and
drinks to the right temperature than in a conventional refrigerator
without this feature. |
N.B. Features will vary from model to model. See product specifications
for details.
If you are the type of person who buys fresh produce which spoils
before you have had the time to use it, then a Miele fridge freezers StayFresh fridge
is the one for you! The StayFresh zone has a dry and a humidity
controlled compartment and is particularly suitable for long term
storage of fresh food. Because the temperature is electronically
maintained at just above freezing point, fruit, vegetables, fish,
meat and poultry can be stored for twice as long as in the refrigerator
and still maintain their freshness. Tests have shown that vitamin
C levels in food stored in the StayFresh zone hardly change over
a period of time, so its health benefits are great too.
The Miele fridge freezers dry compartment is excellent for storing meat, fish, poultry
and dairy products. And with relative humidity levels adjustable
between 45% and 90% in the humidity controlled compartment, you
can adjust the climate inside the compartment to suit the type of
food you are storing. It is particularly suitable for storing fruit
and vegetables as well as salad items which have a high water content
and need to be kept moist.
* Storage times are guidelines only and depend on the quality and
freshness of the food.
N.B. Some fruit and vegetables give off gases which cause them to
deteriorate rapidly. These include bananas, avocado pears, pineapple,
mangos, olives, papaya, passionfruit and citrus fruit as well as
aubergines, cucumbers, green beans, potatoes, melons, peppers, tomatoes
and courgettes.
Miele fridge freezers The frost-free system - With the frost-free system cool air is passed
through a fan, enabling the food to freeze more quickly and thoroughly.
With the frost-free system, you no longer have to defrost the freezer.
Moisture in the air condenses and freezes on the evaporator, where
it melts automatically and drains through a channel into a condensate
tray. The heat from the compressor then causes the water to evaporate.
No more defrosting - with tedious emptying and re-packing of the
freezer.
No build-up of frost on food or evaporator, saving electricity.
Ice in on instant - For the first time Miele fridge freezers offer
an automatic ice cube maker in an integrated fridge-freezer. For
cool drinks at parties and on long, hot summer days, ice is a must.
However, in conventional freezers, it is not always instantly available.
New ice cube makers offer this convenience in a number of integrated
and freestanding appliances in a variety of styles and finishes.
Around 100 to 120 or about 1.1 kg of perfectly formed ice cubes
can be made in 24 hours. When ready, it is dispensed automatically
into one of the half-sized freezer drawers where it can be stored
until it is needed.
NB: These Miele fridge freezers have to be plumbed into a fresh water
supply. If required, a water filter kit is available as an accessory
from the Miele Spares Department at an additional cost, enabling
clear ice to be dispensed.
